ContainersWHAT IS C-TPAT:

C-TPAT is a voluntary government-business initiative to build cooperative relationships that strengthen and improve overall international supply chain and U.S. border security.  Through this initiative, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is asking businesses to ensure the integrity of their security practices and communicate and verify the security guidelines of their business partners within the supply chain. WHY SHOULD BUSINESSES PARTICIPATE:

C-TPAT members will benefit from:

  • 6-fold reduction in enforcement/security inspections
  • 4-fold reduction in trade inspections
  • Cargo inspection cost savings (up to $3,000 in direct costs alone for an intensive inspection)
  • Front of the line inspection, if required
  • Time savings (up to 3 days per intensive inspection)
  • Expedited cargo release
  • Eligibility to participate in other CBP programs


In the near future, all inspections will be eliminated for companies that have been validated and have implemented security systems that exceed minimum acceptable standards.

WHAT SPECTRUM WILL DO:

Our professionals will assist companies eliminate costly and time consuming security inspections on goods exported to the United States and eliminate costs due to pilfering of goods moving through the global supply chain through effective, efficient and simple internal and physical controls.

HOW WILL SPECTRUM HELP YOU:

Based on our practical expertise, we will:

  • Conduct a company specific on-site assessment to identify security vulnerabilities.
  • Assess current security procedures to determine whether all vulnerabilities are addressed.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations on how to implement a C-TPAT compliant global security regime.
  • Provide security training to staff.
  • Assist the company with the CBP validation process
  • Conduct periodic follow-up security assessments.
